Richard.., well done! Just looked in on the blog and saw the comment you left. We're pleased the site was useful to you. That's one heck of an effort on your own, and great that you raised so much money.

To everyone else who's taken the trouble to leave a comment, we thank you... and to those of you who've completed the ride, in however long it took.., you have our respect.

To everyone who's contacted us via the email address, we hope we've been off some help to you. The email is still in use and checked weekly, so don't be afraid to ask if there's something you're not sure of. We'll help if we can.

Cheers!... chris 4 teamaldi

Last Sept two of us decided we would do this in a day for charity. We now number 40-50. The Railway riders go in May. Some over 1 day, some over two days and some half distance. We are riding for Martens childrens hospice (Leeds) and Alderhay childrens hospital (Liverpool). Your blog has been invaluable so far,and has been the subject of much discussion during our meetings. If your ever passing the Railway pub on the canal, Rodley, Leeds pop in and ask for Geordie Kev or Matt for a warm welcome. Thanks again.

To Kev, .. and all The Railway Riders. Thanks for leaving the comment, sounds like you're planning one heck of an assault on the ride, and it's great that you're going to raise some money for the charities you mention. We're pleased that this blog is still being of use to those who are planning to do the ride. We hope that you all complete the ride in May, no matter however long it takes. Just keep going and never give up! .. each and every one of you has our respect and best wishes. We know The Railway well, and should we ever be passing we might just call in and say hello. Good luck in May, we hope the sun shines for you all.

The Railway riders did it. As happens with tough challenges a few fell away during the build up but we managed to get 20+ over two days, and 8 of us did it in 1 day.My own time was 19hrs due to a dodgy knee, but most averaged between 14-16 hours. The weather was great and we raised over £8,000. Its an experince you must try. Thanks again for the great info/blog. Kev.

Excellent site. Me and a mate did this over 2 days last weekend and couldn't have done it without this site. I'm Planning on doing my own blog documenting the journey but this site should be everyone's first stop if they are planning on cycling the canal.

Great blog guys! I read it about 4 and a half years ago, and was inspired to do the route.

I finally got round to doing it last Friday (May 4th 2012). We caught a taxi to the start line from Leeds, and set off from Liverpool just before 6.

Had a nice 45 minute stop in Foulridge (great cafe there btw), and made it back to Leeds in time for a pint just before 8.

The day was challenging enough on a good quality tow path, so great effort doing it on a rainy day!

Cheers
Paul

Hi

I rode from Liverpool to Leeds on Saturday 28th August 2012. Your blog was very useful and helped me visualise parts of the route. It was a warm, dry day, so well done on your rainy adventure!

My own blog of the trip can be found here - http://goo.gl/8moxo Hopefully it will help more people try this great ride!

Cheers

Its like you read my thoughts! You appear to understand so much about this, such as
you wrote the e book in it or something. I believe that you simply can do with a
few p.c. to force the message home a bit, however other
than that, this is fantastic blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.

You clearly know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something informative to read?
